Our Fateful Trip - The North Shore Circle Island Tour
We booked a tour that didn't quite work out for us, it fit into our schedule and we thought it was going to take us to a number of hot spots around the island. We thought we were going to be swimming at Turtle Island, see the Botanical Gardens, swim in a waterfall and several other things; as it turned out, with our time constraints, we booked the North Shore Circle Island Tour instead of the Majestic North Shore Circle Island Tour.
North Shore Circle Island $35 per-person - Spend the day touring 120 miles around Oahu's Circle Island, including many beautiful sightseeing stops for picture taking. Stop at Diamond Head Look-out, Makapu'u beach shore break, Sandy beach, Blow Hole, Hanauma Bay, Waimanalo Shoreline and Kaneohe Town. Visit the gift shop at Tropical Farms Macadamia Nuts and the Dole Plantation. You also drive by a sugar cane field, North Shore beach, Pali look-out, Banzai pipeline, and stop at a Shrimp truck for lunch. (No-Host). Most Waikiki hotels pick-up at 8:30 am return 4:00 pm (Tips are not included)
It was more of a fly-by point and see kind of tour, with stops at the Dole Pineapple Plantation, Tropical Farms Hawaii, a macadamia nut farm on the North Shore, (Where I met Freddie and learned all about the Chickens). That's a whole different story, soon to follow, with photos of the most beautiful chickens.
Most of the items on the tour were not close up photo opportunities, and some we were not even close to, the guide was pointing at obscure locations in the mountains while driving. Blink and you'll miss it. To say we were disappointed is an understatement, and in the future, I will be a lot more careful. Having said that, the tour was not particularly expensive, and our guide did have a lot of local knowledge. This tour is really for one who wants a very slow pace. (#Grambo is 72, and this was too slow for her.)

Lunch Time
We stopped for some gorgeous fresh shrimp at Fumi's Kahuku Shrimp. Also found under Fumi's Shrimp Farm. This was no ordinary shrimp, it was fresh, and you ate overlooking his farm. Rustic, but delicious and well worth the price. They call them shrimp, I could call them prawns!
There were several other photo ops, and we had a great guide, Our friends Will and Crystal at Special Ticket & Tour hooked us up with this one, and to if you want a quiet day without a lot of walking, this is it.
If we had it to do over again, I would recommend booking the Majestic Circle Island Tour, which is what we thought we had booked. but it was an honest mistake. This is what we thought we were doing:

Majestic Grand Circle Tour $68 per person - Experience the most beautiful part of Oahu on this 120 miles picturesque tour and stop, Visit the glorious Byodo-In Temple set amidst a magnificent mountain backdrop at valley temple which is the most beautiful replica of the origin Byodo-In, in Japan, the wouldn't be missed Pali lookout, Waimea falls valley so you can enjoy over 6,000 plants including some of rarest floral in the world. This tour is a must-see. All scenic points are about 10 to 15 minutes each stop, Waimea Falls 70 minutes stop, no-host lunch.
